More than 50 grain producers in the southern region of Plovdiv have blocked a railway station in the city, Focus News Agency reported. The Plovdiv grain producers have called on Agriculture Minister Valeri Tsvetanov to resign because he has failed to "protect Bulgarian interests in terms of subsidizing and purchasing produce in a time of global financial crisis". They insist that they should receive what they have been pledged – national additional payments of up to BGN 9 per a unit of arable land.
